Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy has roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but not only that. It was used in ancient Greece and by many peoples around the world, with findings dating back even to 1500 BC.
The method is based on painless placement of cups and local suction of the skin. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, this improves blood circulation in the tissues, as well as the flow of vital energy (Qi) in the body. It brings blocked energy to the surface and helps eliminate pathogenic factors, such as cold, accumulated toxins, and stagnant energy.
Additionally, as blood circulation increases, lymph movement improves, oxygenation and rejuvenation of the area and the entire body are enhanced.
Whether using classical glass cups or cups with a suction pump, they are often placed on acupuncture points or areas of discomfort and gently moved across the body. During the session, oil is applied to the area where the cups are placed, and a combination of movements and static positioning for a few minutes are used.
The cupping technique is adapted to each person’s needs and can be used as an auxiliary treatment or on its own.
It can help muscles relax, relieve pain in the neck, back, shoulders, and lower back. It can also be applied to gastrointestinal problems such as digestion issues, bloating, constipation, as well as menstrual pain, colds, and coughs.
